A new and emblematic place for Seville, J. Mayer’s Metropol Parasol is a laminated wood structure which adds interest to the Plaza de la Encarnación, in the heart of the city. In addition to providing shade over the entire plaza, the structure is actually a four story complex which houses several businesses as well as an urban lookout point.
In the base of the Metropol, we find the Antiquarium, an archeological museum with a multiuse event hall, the plaza on the ground level, and the lookout point and gathering place on the upper level, 30 meters up in the air, with a panoramic 360 view of Seville across gently winding pathways.
The Metropol Parasol Space is located in the uppermost level of the architectural project, a modern structure with a lot of personality which has helped the city to position itself as an iconic symbol of urban culture. It fills the need for large and unique spaces in a central location, offering room for 260 seated or 400 cocktail party guests, with numerous possibilities for layout and décor which make it perfect for a plethora of different events.
This space’s versatility and size, along with its location and iconic shape call all types of events to mind: product launches, fashion shows, cocktail parties, award ceremonies, conventions, galas, seminars, press or marketing events, fairs and competitions, to name a few possibilities.
